A Collaborative Framework for Knowledge, Policy & Impact
The EULAS Network is built around seven interconnected Work Packages (WPs), each designed to contribute to the generation, exchange, and dissemination of high-quality research and public engagement on EU-Latin America relations. These packages reflect the project's strategic priorities and ensure an integrated, dynamic approach to academic collaboration, policy relevance, and social impact. Each WP is led by a partner institution and designed to align with the broader goals of the Erasmus+ programme, the EU's foreign policy agenda, and the regional priorities of Latin America and the Caribbean.
This work package explores populism, democracy, and human rights in LAC, analyzing EU democracy promotion and human rights frameworks. It compiles research, hosts expert discussions, organizes a conference, develops teaching resources, and fosters long-term academic collaboration.

Countering Populism: Advancing Liberal Democracy and Human Rights




Focuses on the evolving political landscape and institutional ties between the EU and LAC. It explores multilateralism, governance, and diplomacy, helping understand how the EU’s external actions are shaped and received in the region. This WP will advance EU-LAC cooperation on climate governance, biodiversity protection, and SDGs. It collects data, hosts expert discussions, organizes a conference, fosters knowledge exchange, develops teaching resources, and promotes long-term research collaboration.

Governing Climate and Biodiversity and Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals
Designs innovative academic and training activities. This includes co-teaching initiatives, student and faculty mobility, and the development of long-lasting academic partnerships through online and in-person engagement. This work package will develop a textbook and a MOOC on EU-LAC relations. It provides regional training, fosters global knowledge exchange, and integrates innovative research into interactive learning resources.

Analyses EU-LAC cooperation on climate change, sustainability, and digital transformation. It aims to identify shared challenges, best practices, and opportunities for joint action in green and digital policy fields. This WP aims to strengthens EU-LAC cooperation in health, social, and cultural fields by gathering data, hosting expert discussions, and organizing a conference. It promotes knowledge exchange, develops teaching resources, and fosters long-term academic collaboration.

Enhancing health, social and cultural cooperation
Drives the visibility of EULAS through an integrated outreach strategy. This WP ensures that EULAS is not just a scholarly network, but a publicly engaged, policy-relevant platform for global academic and civic dialogue.This WP will aim to effectively disseminate research and educational outputs through a public website, social media, newsletters, webinars, videos and podcasts.
